- Emerald Park Trail - 3098 W. Scenic Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72118
Emerald Park is 135 acres of some of the most beautiful views in North Little Rock, including forests, rivers, and a variety of wildlife, and Emerald Park Trail is one of the best ways to explore the area. The 5.6-mile out-and-back trail is a popular destination for both hikers and cyclists. The trail is partially paved and fairly easy, which is great for families with kids. It's also accessible, both stroller-friendly and wheelchair-friendly. Even pets are welcome if you keep them on a leash. Open year-round, it's the perfect spot for a weekend hike and picnic.
- Pinnacle Mountain Summit Trails - 11901 Pinnacle Valley Road, Roland, AR 72135
There are several trails around Pinnacle Mountain, but the most worthwhile are the Pinnacle Mountain East and West Summit Trails. They're each only about a mile and a half, but they're still probably the most challenging on this list, as the terrain is fairly rocky and has a steep incline. Once you get to the summit, though, you can't beat the view. East Summit Trail is the more difficult of the two, as it lies across several fields of boulders. Both are out-and-back trails, but if you want, you can hike up via the West Summit Trail and back down via the East Summit Trail to get the full experience. Whichever way you go, it's about an hour and a half of hiking round trip.
- Allsopp Park Trail - 3700 Cedar Hill Road, Little Rock, AR 72202
If you want a trail a little closer to home, Allsopp Park Trail is right in the heart of downtown Little Rock. The trail is a little rocky but a relatively easy hike, great for families. There's also plenty of other great stuff to do in Allsopp Park, including a softball field, a playground, and tennis courts.
